In loving memory of Mr. Selby Dora, Chairperson of the Seychelles Athletics Federation Executive Committee from 1998 up to 22nd September 2024.

It was with profound sadness that we learned of Mr. Dora’s passing which will undoubtedly leave a huge void in the local Athletics community and Seychelles Sports in General.

Mr. Dora was one of, if not the longest – serving sports administrator of any local Federation or Association. First elected as Chairman of the Seychelles Athletics Federation (SAF) in 1998. Mr. Dora, until his demise on the 22nd September 2024 was serving his 26th year at the helm of the SAF following his reelection early during the year, earning him an additional two-year mandate.

Mr. Dora will be remembered for his long-standing dedication to the local athletics community and his commitment to develop and grow athletics in the country.

His absence will be deeply felt within the athletics community, and we will continue to remember his legacy.

During this sad time, our thoughts are with his family and the local athletics community.

May his spirit continue to inspire and guide us in our shared love for Athletics.
