Starting next year, the Seychelles Challenge and Outward Bounds Association, under the leadership of CEO Marc Arissol, will take on the responsibility of hosting local recreational and adventurous activities. The National Sports Council will continue to provide ongoing support for these initiatives, as announced during the award ceremony for this year's Mahé Crazy Challenge held at Stad Linite Roche Caïman.

Established in September 2021, the Seychelles Challenge and Outward Bounds Association (Scoba) has been operating under the National Sports Council, specifically the community, leisure, and sports for all unit. This was part of its induction program, guided by unit director Francis Remie, leading up to assuming responsibility for most outdoor activities starting next year.

As part of its mandate, Scoba will also focus on promoting camping and recreational activities, local heritage through nature walks, and coastal exploration through activities like kayaking and boating.

The executive committee of Scoba consists of Andrew Paul (chairperson), Vivienne Vadivello (vice-chairperson), Christianne Commettant (secretary), Samantha William (treasurer), Jude Francourt (logistics), Mary-Joe Joubert (marketing and promotion), and Raymond Florentine (trail manager).

CEO Marc Arissol expressed the National Sports Council's continued financial support for Scoba. He mentioned that a memorandum of understanding with the Seychelles Athletics Federation (SAF) is in the pipeline, and agreements with international outdoor organizations are on the agenda for the coming year, providing more opportunities for collaboration and growth.

The Mahé Crazy Challenge this year saw 29 participants, with Geno Belle emerging as the grand winner in the men's competition, securing his third title. Caroline Sebert set a new record in the women's challenge. Cash prizes, sponsored by the NSC, were awarded to the winners, with additional support from Cable and Wireless in the form of goodie bags.

The Mahé Crazy Challenge, initiated in 2004, has a history of notable winners and records. James Barra set a record in 2012 that still stands, and Caroline Sebert broke the previous women's record set by Pene Vogt in 2017.
